Several Ochsner programs are targeted to just this purpose. C.O.P.E. (Connecting with Our Peers through Empathy) is a peer support program designed to provide emotional first aid to healthcare providers involved in stressful or challenging patient events. Through Ochsner Anywhere Care Behavioral Health and Well-Being, employees can access online behavioral health counseling sessions and group therapy with loved ones through the website or mobile app in the privacy of their home. Our Employee Assistance Program provides support during major life issues, from relationship problems to legal and financial concerns. Employees and their household family members can receive counseling and help in identifying appropriate community resources. In addition, spiritual support for our staff from all faith backgrounds is available through our Chaplaincy service.

Ochsner’s new Accredited Pharmacy Technician program is growing careers while helping build a pipeline of professionals in this growing field.
Ochsner piloted a new approach that leverages online training technology to address the need for pharmacy technicians across the system. We partnered with MedCerts, a national online career training and job assistance tool that delivers certification and career training through HD-quality, video-based instruction and virtual simulations, and JOB1, the business and career solutions initiative of the City of New Orleans. Students participate in both online instruction and on-the-job externships with Ochsner pharmacy professionals. The first graduating class went through the MedCerts ASHP/ACPE Accredited Pharmacy Technician program with a 90% completion rate, and a 100% placement rate for graduating students.
